Chi has been putting the calligraphy set that Grandmii found him to good use...
Using the inkstick and inkstone to make ink...
Carving the soapstone seal with the symbol 'chi'...
Practicing and painting...(the red sheet in the centre is Chi's name that we got done at a New Year event a couple of years ago)
and having a go at the symbols for each of the Chinese zodiac animals...
We have also looked at the story of the Chinese zodiac animals, and the different characteristics the animals represent. We made a Chinese zodiac fan out of some bookmark printouts we found here (we also got the chinese character printouts from there)
And as it's the year of the Tiger, Chi has been finding out about the Indochinese and South China Tigers, and how they are sadly both critically endangered :(
Onwards to Japan tomorrow, although I think we might be squeezing in a bit more about Chinese politics too along the way...
Busy, busy, busy! I like Activity Village - unfortunately my kids are unimpressed. No lego ;-)
ReplyDeleteI must say, Chi seems a very talented artist. Did he draw the tiger on the note page?
And the t-shirt will be on it's way soon - promise!
Hi Chi - the work with the writing set looks very interesting :-) I thought you would make good use of the set - well done xxxxxGrandmaxxxxxxx
ReplyDeleteI only just discovered Activity Village, definitely lacking in the lego department, but otherwise, good site ;0)
ReplyDeleteYeah, Chi did the tiger - will pass on the comment :)
